I assume you read the post How to create a professional blog for free and would like to create a free website at HostKing. Creating a website at HostKing can be quite tricky for beginners, as the signing up process is different to the one of WordPress and Blogger. Anyway, I will help and guide you through the whole process.
Website at HostKing – Features

- 500 MB Bandwidth
- Eleven plugins
- Sixty-six templates
- Responsive design
Signing Up For A Website At HostKing
To create a website at Hostking click on this link and scroll down after landing on their website. Under Pricing and Plans choose the free plan and click Get started now. After clicking Get started now, you will then get to choose your sub-domain name and click Check to see if it is available. If it is available you will then be taken to the Review and Checkout screen (automatically) and that’s where you need to click Checkout.
After clicking Checkout, you will see a form. Fill in your personal information, Billing address, Additional information, Account security information, then read and agree to their Terms and Conditions. When done click Complete order.
Congratulations on creating your HostKing account and placing your order.
After completing your order, you will receive two email messages from HostKing. The first email will tell you that they have received your order and will be processing it soon. It will also have your order details. The second email will have your account information (Login details, Control panel URL, Domain URL, Server information and so on).
N.B You will receive the second email after a couple of hours, so be patient.
You can now login to your cPanel to start customizing your website. To login to cPanel, you can use the link provided on your second email or by going to your HostKing Dashboard (recommended).
On your HostKing dashboard click on your domain URL under ‘Your Active Products/Services‘.
Login to cPanel
After clicking your domain URL you will see the screen (picture above). On this screen click on Login to cPanel and if you decide to click Visit Website you will get a 404 error as your site doesn’t have a template (meaning it is not built).
cPanel Dashboard after Logging in
After logging in cPanel, scroll down and select Website builder under Software. On the next screen, select you domain name and then choose your site’s template – Check the categories on the left side to find the template you want. To choose a template hover on it and you will see the choose option.
On the next screen you will see the tools that will help you build your site. HostKing’s website builder is similar to the one of GoDaddy’s, anyway when you done customizing your site you will see a Publish option on top. Use our contact us form to request a video to help with customizing your site.
That’s all you need to know! Do share your comments below and Thank You for reading, Cheers.
